This year, the two finalists of this tournament automatically received applications for the Olympic Games. The United States snatched second after the Dominican Republic beat Guatemala on penalties earlier on Friday.

The USA and Dominican Republic play in San Pedro Sula on Sunday to determine the CONCACAF U20 champions.

The Americans scored all three goals in the first half.

Paxten Aaronson, an 18-year-old midfielder who plays for the Philadelphia Union, scored in the third minute.

Alejandro Alvarado from FC Vizela scored in the 23rd minute to make it 2-0.

Quinn Sullivan, who also plays for Union, added another in the 43rd.

This is the first time since the Beijing 2008 Games that the American men’s team has competed in an Olympic competition.

The 2024 Games will take place from July 26th to August 11th. Sixteen teams play in the men’s tournament.
