American schools and public places have become “battlegrounds,” Biden says in his call to action against gun violence
#ICYMI President Joe Biden on Thursday made a plea for action against gun violence as the nation recovers from a spate of mass shootings, including horrific massacres in New York and Texas.
The President spoke live Thursday night as members of the Senate huddled during recess to discuss possible compromise legislation in response to the shocking battle scenes that unfolded at a supermarket and an elementary school in recent weeks.
Even those shootings, nightmarish as they are, risk becoming memorable now given the violence that unfolded in the days after those attacks in Uvalde and Buffalo, including shootings at a Tulsa hospital and a high school in Los Angeles.
“Here in America, there are too many other schools, too many other everyday places that have become places of killing, battlefields,” Biden said Thursday at the White House.
