Today’s ‘Heardle’ Answer and Notes for Saturday 4th June

Oh look, it’s already the first weekend of June. How the time flies. I hope you can relax and enjoy this weekend and do what makes you happy. Perhaps part of this is taking a few minutes to play today’s audible. However, if you’re struggling with the latest song, some clues and the answer are right in front of you.

For newbies, here’s how to play audible: You hear the first second of a somewhat familiar song. You can then guess artist and title or skip your turn. If you skip or guess wrong, you’ll hear some more of the song. The game continues until the sixth and final tip, then you will hear 16 seconds of the track.

If you’re actually a newbie or just haven’t played for a few days, here are the songs you might have missed:

As always, audible offers a mix of genres and today’s song is no different. If you could benefit from some pointers, here they are:

  1. This is listed as a pop soul/dance pop/R&B song on Wikipedia.
  2. It was released in 1995.
  3. It was a number one hit in the US and peaked at number four in the UK Singles Chart.
  4. This was only the second song to top the Billboard Hot 100 after Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone.”

Still can’t quite figure this out? Don’t worry about losing your streak. The answer to today audible is imminent…

Heardle response for June 4th

spoiler alert. This is your last chance to turn back and try to guess the song using the clues before the answer is revealed…

It’s “Fantasy” by Mariah Carey!

Confession time: I’m not a Mariah aficionado and I completely slammed this one. I think I would have understood if the main instruments had kicked in before the 16 seconds were up. Difficult today. Oh yes, tomorrow is a new day.

But that’s a good song! You can listen to it in full here:

If it’s sunday audible stunned you too, come back to my blog for some hints and the answer.

By the way, tomorrow marks a big milestone for the game. It is audible #100! I’ll take a wild guess and say the song “Celebration” will be by Kool and the Gang.

PS I went last night for my first gig in over two years. I’ve seen Leif Vollebekk a few times now and he was as great as ever. Please enjoy “East of Eden”, my favorite song of his (and his opener on the show):
