Bloodborne takes center stage in Sony’s spooky Easter egg-laden PS Plus premium ad

We all know that by now Sony revised his PlayStationPlus Subscription service by adding new tiers that give you more access to games (both new and old) by paying for the most expensive membership tier. Today marks the final push of the launch phase as Sony completes its final launch in Europe, the Middle East, India, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The PlayStation Plus rebirth essentially merges aging PlayStation Now streaming with PlayStation Plus’ cloud gaming capabilities, resulting in a service that’s comparable – if not identical – to Xbox Game Pass. The three new tiers are: Essential, Extra, and Premium, which cost between $9.99 and $17.99 per month.

To celebrate the launch of the tiers in all regions, for some reason Sony released a new ad featuring a strange man named Mr. Malcolm. Malcolm – joined by a large cast of PlayStation icons past and present – is a vessel for all things PlayStation and showcases (presumably) what Sony wants you to be comfortable with in this new PS Plus experience .

Is it me or does this corridor have PT vibes?

“This is the beginning of a new era for PlayStation Plus and we’re excited about the possibilities that lie ahead,” Sony said in a statement released with the ad. “Stay tuned for our monthly announcements on future games coming to PlayStation Plus members.” Don’t mind, I’m just over here begging for Gex and Soul Reaver.

“Why be one thing when you can be everything?” asks the trailer, no doubt trying to draw attention to the 700+ titles available through PlayStation Plus Premium. Alongside a cabinet full of platinum trophies (nice), if you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll find nods to iconic franchises like Horizon, Uncharted and – yes! – even Bloodborne.

Sony has been pretty quiet on Bloodborne for the past few years. The closest we come to a sequel is in the form of an Unreal Engine 5 video that surfaced earlier this week. And of course there are also some people who are moving elements of the game into Elden Ring.

PS Plus commercial, Mr. Malcoim feeding a hostage steak

Nice to meat you.

However, I have a question; What is the raw steak that Mr. Malcolm is feeding the man he keeps locked in his basement? Reis maybe? Or is it a nod to something else…steak could be “stakes,” right? Vampires don’t like missions. Does that mean Sony bought Castlevania from Konami!?

No, don’t be stupid.
